Skylar Horne

Inside Sales, Eruditio

Linkedin

Skylar Horne graduated from Florida State University (Go Noles!) with a Bachelor of Science degree. It was during her senior internship that she developed a love and appreciation for various styles of teaching such as Montessori and Classical. Many of these methods directly translate into adult education.

She strongly values education and is thankful to have ended up with a career that helps others see the value of training and education too. Horne enjoys learning from others through their past experiences and stories. In her career, she appreciates the complexity of the maintenance and reliability industry.

Horne is originally from Orlando, FL where she visits family often. Secretly she visits for the much-missed restaurants and wake surfing on the many lakes! She now lives with her husband and their Aussie doodle pup, Tucker, in Charleston, SC. She’s also lived in upstate New York, but mostly used it as proof that she belongs in a state that serves sweet tea.

Away from the workplace, Horne can be found working on house projects, exploring the outdoors, enjoying local restaurants, and binging Netflix.

Brian Hronchek

Reliability Engineer, US Steel

Linkedin

In 1997, I enlisted in the Marines to work on F/A-18 Hornets as a structure and hydraulics mechanic.  After being selected for an officer program, I returned to Purdue University and earned a BS in Aerospace Engineering in 2003.

With most of my work experience being so closely tied to aviation, at the time it seemed only ironic that my next assignment was Infantry Officer, but in retrospect those were some of the best experiences of my professional career.  Leading some of the best people on the planet, ensuring people, processes and equipment were always ready to perform, and stepping up to overcome some incredible challenges.  You just can’t ask for a better foundation than that before stepping into the chaos of an industrial environment.

Working at United States Steel as a Reliability Engineer and Maintenance Planning Manager has been an exciting assignment.  Every day provides unique opportunities to exercise continuous improvement both as an individual and within the organization.  It has been my pleasure to introduce many predictive technologies and process improvements within the company.  Currently, I am working on a strategy for Accelerating Reliability to help anyone in an industrial setting achieve higher OEE performance faster than what has been possible before.
